MORBID ANGEL Tour Manager: Promoter Is To Blame For Tijuana Concert Cancellation
September 13, 2005MORBID ANGEL's South American tour manager, Carlo Hernandez, has sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the cancellation of the group's Sept. 10 concert in Tijuana, Mexico:
"We just want to inform you the fact that the band didn't cancel the show in Tijuana. We went on tour in Brazil, Chile and Mexico for the last 15 days and the only show we didn't play was Tijuana.
"Reasons? A lack of responsibility [on the part of] the local promoter to arrange basic things in order to have us traveling to Tijuana. The worst was when we received the flight tickets to Tijuana less than 24 hours before the trip and with a totally unworking schedule. Having a show in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the night before, it was totally impossible to make it on time to catch the flight to Tijuana [with] the schedule they gave us. We looked for a flight later on in the day but we couldn't find anything [that would have allowed us to] make it [to Tijuana] in time to do a soundcheck and offer the fans the show they deserve because that is our first concern. No matter how [stressful] all the traveling could be, the band tried until the last moment to save this show. Sorry it couldn't work!!!
"The band want to apologize all the fans in Tijuana and we will play in TJ in the near future with a diferent promoter."
